:Scarlet: designs

Having made an interesting steampunk type of airship for and his character InflataBelle recently, and learning how best to use clone-able component parts for recurring patterns, I have since felt the motivation to dive back into my old arts regarding my Alternate Universe version of Mrs. Brisby the Air Pirate, and began fussing with her blimp to see how I could improve upon it.

Compare my original design on the right "Scarlet Scourge 1" with 1B on the left and you can see what a big difference a little bit of recurring patterns can do for a simple model. ^ ^

About the only other thing I've done to improve upon the scarlet is expand the balloon, girth wise, as well as add that nifty netting around the outside. The expansion was done because I felt that original shape was too thin, now that I have an even clearer idea of what these craft are supposed to look like after doing more image searching with google. ^ ^

I still don't how best to build the motors for this blimp yet... I would like to keep her a true "Steam Punker" by using two small twin cylinder, double expansion engines to drive her propeller, but I haven't the slightest idea what steam engines, outside of say choo-choo trains are supposed to look like? XD But that only means I need to do more youtubing and image searching.

I will post another concept of the Scarlet Scourge when I find something relevant regarding the motors, but if steamby or other enthusiasts have suggestions or tips and advice regarding steam power, I would gladly accept your knowledge!

Anyhow this is more of an alternate concept design rather than an update or work in progress report, even if the scarlet is still very much a work in progress. XDD
