Friendship Express SketchUp Paper-craft

Big thanks to fellow deviant RocketmanTan for creating a really adorable paper-craft version of "Friendship Express" the little choo choo that ran from Ponyville to Canterlot.

This is my attempt to muck around with the image before committing to printing to card-stock and working with it in real, which I intend to do later, and if my silly samsung camera will cooperate I'll take some pics of the finished real paper-craft model and post it alongside my SketchUp experiment.

Since the goal was to test all of the folding needed before committing to the real thing, I did not cheat in sketchup and simply spray painted the textures on the side of a quickly built model. Instead I did things the long way around, and physically cutting with the line-tool and eraser, and physically folding the sides around to bend the image into the final result seen here, the completed Friendship Express in 3D.

Only minor problem was the seem in the cabin that looks off-white against the black borders, but instead of mucking with it, I kept it, figuring that this is how the cabin might turn out in paper-stock if I fold things exactly as how I've done in sketchup, so yeah this look really accurate as far as a folded model goes.
