LandMaster... more like stuck master if you ask me... and why the hell did she choose a Mk-iii to do her patrols with? Wheels out here near the Saurian swamps? And here I thought she was the clever one... And for God's sake would you stop whining?!? It's not much different than the mud used in the Cornerian Spa and Grill, you prissy princess!! Uhhhg...

So word has it that elements of Andrew Oikonny's armada somehow survived the clean up effort by the Cornerian forces after the would-be Andros replacement was defeated soundly by Team StarFox. Patrol droids managed to pick up comm traffic from the survivors hiding out on Sauria, so whom better to being an in depth reconnaissance than that blue vixen since she's very familiar with Sauria to begin with. Only you'd think that she'd remember it being the wet spring season and all.. and would have taken an older Mk-ii Landmaster with track bands... but no... Krystal picked out the Mk-iii because it's faster and could cover more ground than the Mk-ii.

Long story short... She got stuck several times in the soft Saurian plains between the swamps to the East and Thorntail Hollow, and with the rest of StarFox occupied with having to deal with StarWolf causing trouble again, I was asked by General Pepper to lend assistance to Krystal and rescue her if need be. Hubby was busy dealing with Gatlantian elements, so he unfortunately couldn't help us, and worse, he was carrying our M88A2 Herc in the Warlock, so I had to play tow truck with my little Leopard and Luchs... and frankly neither of my panzer are best suited to recovery efforts, but they had to do in a pinch.

When I rolled into the Saurian plains from Thorntail Hollow I was stunned at how utterly buried Krystal was. I didn't even have to ask her if she tried jump-jets to make her way to higher ground... The vents were all blocked with clay and I'm surprised the whole armored rover hadn't disappeared!

I jumped out of my little luchs and carefully assessed the ground conditions. To my relief, most of the more well worn paths used by the Long-necks and the Thorntails was packed solid enough to where I could back my Leo up onto, and wedge in my ground anchors under the tracks to begin the recovery operation. The less traveled bits of the Saurian plains was gummy to say the least, and the section that little miss blue was trapped in was practically chocolate pudding...

There seemed to be a lot of mud over near the driver's compartment was located, and I soon found out why when I climbed onto the mired landmaster and knocked on the canopy. Turns out Krystal had tried to abandon her so called tank for the high ground not too far off in the distance, but when she crawled down off her L.M. she sank up to her hips in the pudding like mud and was barely able to crawl back onto the front to keep from sinking completely. Little miss prissy pants was crying of course, not so much because Fox was unable to rescue her, rather because she had ruined her prefect little blue uniform, her new one, and worse... she broke a nail climbing back onto her L.M. Seriously... she broke a nail, and got her outfit dirty... pfffff... Meanwhile I had to strip down butt nakey to keep my own Field Marshal uniform clean and wade through the thick pudding to that little priss' half sunk "tank" and rescue her.

She even had the gall to ask if could drive my little Luchs closer so she could jump onto it from her L.M.  pffff jawohl like that was going to happen!... I'd help get her unstuck but I wasn't going to sink my own tanks to do it... Not even for Lylat's little blue heroine! She'd either suck it up, jump down off her high throne back into the goo I was waist deep in and help me hook the cables up to her LandMaster, or she could wait for her hero Foxy to come get her himself.

I was surprised that Krystal actually tried to put on her big girl pants and helped me, but god her constant whining was worse than Rarity's!  I was soooooooo tempted to just leave her there...

What happens next, whether I rescue her, or leave little miss blue stuck in the mud is up to you to imagine.

I'm tempted to make a follow up pict to this, but that'll have to wait until the weekend gets here... In the mean time, here's Friday's posting. Enjoy!
