Basils Barrel Envy by NezumiYuki Basils Barrel Envy by NezumiYuki
XDDD Here I go again, sticking my Marty Su with a Cannon character, in this case Basil of Baker Street.

Oddly enough, this time there's no naughty bits showing so I don't have to bother with a "mature sticker". o.O Amazing isn't it? ;P

Ahem well anyway, Basil is quite fond of his Webley mark IV, for it is accurate, powerful, and well balanced for a hand gun of the time. Heck, it was most likely a Webley that he shot the pillow with in the opening half of The Great Mouse Detective.

Anyhoooo, dear Basil is proud of his revolver. It's reliable and powerful for its time, and being .38 caliber with high velocity ammunition, capable of stopping all but the most psyched up of opponents jazzing on adrenaline and rage.

However poor Basil got the shock of his life when Max showed up at the local gun club.. not only for being dressed in only his favorite pair of tattered Daisy Dudes, but for arriving with some heat!

Needless to say poor Basil felt "barrel" envy all that afternoon.
:iconxd--plz:

Pardon to those whom adore Basil of Baker Street! :giggle: No fowl was meant here, I just simply wanted to practice some male furries for once and began doodling dear Basil at first, then this notion struck me, and so I had to make this silly and cheesy three panel comic with Max, my Marty Su... whom although Max might be NIMH based like myself, we are not above the occasional foray into other fandoms, like GMD. ^w^

I'll be doing more of these quick and hopefully amusing mini comics like this to use as practice with, and I will of course include females too, like Teresa Brisby, Tanya Mousekewitz, and whomever else I could think of so don't think these will be a boys only sort of thing. =D

++++++++++++++

Barrel envy Basil is owned by Eve Titus and Walt Disney Studios respectively.

Maximilian Gurei Nezumi is my original character and Yuki's husband. :iconnezumiyuki:

Done in a jiff in PhotoShop Elements6 with a tiny Wacom Bamboo.

XDD Thank you. I would have put Dirty Harry's gun in Max's hands but for some reason my Maxxie looked better when I drew the sliver Colt on him. XDDD

You made me have my first laugh of the morning! :giggle: This is excellent! What happens to Basil's gun in the second panel almost made cereal come out my nose.

XDDDD Glad to have almost made your cereal explode out your nose my dear. :giggle: There so much innuendo here it reeks of testosterone! >: D
I always thought it funny how guys endlessly razz each other doing stuff like this... "Meh, my gun is begger!" "Pffff bullsh*t mine is bigger!"

So I just had to draw poor Basil's gun doing a Monty Python sort of thing here. =D

Monty Python = love. Not to insult Max, but I still like Basil's gun better. I have a special place for revolvers in my heart for some odd reason.

Yeah usually that "my gun is bigger" shit means there isn't much going on downstairs. It's somewhat refreshing to see that Max isn't overcompensating. Though it wouldn't work well for me personally (open preferrer of the less-endowed type). Still awesome though. :D

*giggles* No worries Foxy, no offence taken and Max is chuckling over it too. And thank you much! =D

I was kind of playing off of Time when I placed the colt in Max's hands. Since I did a bit of Google footwork trying to find a gun that would fit Basil's time-period, I found both the Colt and Basil's Webley were presumably close enough to the late 1800's for either character to use in the comic strip.

I had wanted to put the newer S&W 500 in Max's hands, but being produced in 2003 to present, it was far to big of a time gap, but would have been equally hilarious I suppose. More so perhaps because the S&W is even bigger than the colt... XDDD

But you know, chatting about this thru comments has just given me a way for our dear Basil to one-up on Max! I think Basil would look comically bad ass wielding the S&W making Max stew for a change! XDDDD I think I need to draw this now!

A sequel comic to this? Oh do go on! :D

I'm no gun expert, but I really admire your attention to time period accuracies when it comes to your jokes. It really adds a lot when someone takes the time to make the little things believable.

 Why thank you Foxy! It's one of my little quirks that I try so hard to be accurate about every aspect of my art. :giggle: I could have just as easily drawn dear Basil with his huge cartoony gun as the Disney crew had, but knowing what a proper English Gentleman Basil is, I figured it'd be best if I gave him a gun from his country, and time period, the Webley. And since Max and I are American, what better symbol of U.S iron to have, other than a S&W revolver, a Colt 45? :giggle:
