Description

In 2199 her canon name is Desler... how egotistical?! :XD: Anyway this is my latest venture into the Uchuu senkan Yamato fandom.

Since any technical information regarding this ship is still not widely available outside of the homeland, I've relied on what few images I've been able to find with Google, Bing, and Yahoo image searches to construct this in SketchUp.

On major deviation from canon that I've taken liberties with regards the bow - nose of the ship. In canon 2199, The Desler lacks any sort of wavemotion or beam weapon in the nose, instead this ship docks with an enormous orbital facility called Second or New Baleras, essentially a second Capital city in orbit over Gamilus whereby the Desler docks with, rearms, and is refitted with additional armored hull sections to become an even larger Command Battleship equipped with a monstrously large wave motion gun or as Desslok in his ever egocentric manner calls it, Desura ho... yes... the Desslok Gun... many many MANY times larger and more destructive than the type equipped on the Yamato. :XD:

I felt that the Imperator/Desler looked odd not having a wave gun in the nose, so adhering to the classic anime, I've kit bashed the 2199 variant to feature a wave gun, but in keeping with the 2199 design mind-set, I've included a spike nozzle in the muzzle of the Desura ho to match the general silhouette closely rather than giving the Desura-Desler-whatever a truncated nose.

So then Yamato fans, here's a 2199 variation of Desslok's gunship for your enjoyment. =D

********

Yamato 2199 is owned by ??? :dummy: No clue... really! I'll find out eventually. :XD:

Nicelooking ship, Yuki. But what I'd like to know is: How does it keep from blowing the bow spike out of the muzzle when he fires the gun, or worse, keep the back pressure from blowing out the breech?
